Lee Corso is synonymous with ESPN’s “College Gameday” in a way few other people are tied to any other program.
For weekly viewers, then, it’s been jarring to see Corso missing from the desk the past two weeks, which has featured Desmond Howard, Rece Davis, Pat McAfee, and Kirk Herbstreit. The show, which took place in Lawrence, Kans., this week, kicked off with the crew explaining why Corso wasn’t there again.
Last week, Corso “woke up feeling under the weather,” according to Davis. That kept him out of the show, but the crew assured viewers he was feeling better.

This week, they explained that, once again, Corso wasn’t feeling well, and they again assured viewers he will be good to go next week.

“Yeah I think it’s very strange for everybody watching – those of us on the set, of course – not to have Lee here,” Herbstreit said on the broadcast. “He does sound better, but I think by doctor’s orders he wasn’t expected to be able to travel this week. But news is good with the tests he’s been receiving.”
