As anyone who has ever ordered a parcel will no doubt know, they can end up being delivered to some pretty weird and wacky places. In the past, from impressive throws through upstairs windows to perilously close outdoor bin surprises on bin day. However, one new alleged incident has to rank among the most bizarre.

A woman waiting for a parcel to be delivered claims she was recently left perplexed after receiving an odd-looking delivery pic from the postman, showing her package in a very strange location. In fact, the pic looked an awful lot like it had been taken at the sorting office.

Taking to Reddit with a screenshot of the pic, the exasperated woman, who goes by the username u/hellojaddy dryly remarked, “I can confirm I do not live in the sorting office”.

The photo in question appears to show the parcel inside a cardboard tray, against a workplace background that does indeed look very like some sort of sorting office. Wherever it’s been taken, it’s clear it wasn’t taken at her actual home address. The customer used the Royal Mail Tracked 24 service, and it’s unclear at the time of writing whether or not they’ve received the package.

In response to her humorous quip that she didn’t live at the sorting office, one person commented, “not yet”, while another deadpanned, “Don’t be hasty. Ask them what the heating situation in there is like.”

Back in July, a man made headlines after claims his Perfume Shop parcel had been chucked some ’20-30 feet’ over two fences, with the delivery driver then using a pic of the package flying through the air as their proof of delivery.

Customer Phil Hollingsworth, 52, joked at the time: “Kudos to the delivery driver for 1. A decent aim. 2. Getting a photo immediately after he threw it.”
