A woman who bought a hoarder’s old house at auction had to call the police after opening a huge safe she found inside the property. Tiffany, 28, bought the house without seeing it and when she arrived for the first time she was amazed to see it was still full of items.

She found vintage TVs and old furniture, and also a huge safe that was still sealed – so she set about opening it with a grinder and a pickaxe. Eventually, after what looked like a huge amount of work, Tiffany opened the huge metal box and when she examined the contents she had no choice but to call the police.

Documenting her discovery on TikTok, where she uploads as @misstiffanyma, Tiffany said: “After hours of watching the contractor grind, pick axe and hammer away at the safe, we finally got it opened and, oh my God, what we actually found was insane.

“We found some heirlooms like an engagement ring, a bunch of photos that could definitely be used as blackmail, a tonne of rare bills and old coins that are probably worth more than a Birkin.

“We even found a World War II dagger that was for the bad guys, but honestly, the craziest thing we found, I’m not even allowed to tell you guys, because we have to get the police involved.”

Tiffany, from Los Angeles, California, bought the house with her partner, Matt, and has been renovating it bit by bit – starting with emptying out all the contents from the previous owner.

She has received thousands of views on her story, and now people have been commenting about the secrets of the giant safe and trying to guess what was in there.

One user said: “Someone’s ID, and chunk of hair, in that photo album…”

And another guessed: “Pictures of missing people?”
