Woman fuming after husband ‘lies about emergency’ to force her to leave brother’s wedding

One woman has been left devastated as her husband made her believe he was seriously hurt in order to force her to come home – people are disgusted by his actions and are telling the wife to leave him

Your wedding day should be one of the happiest times of your life, and of all the people you expect to attend – even with a limited guestlist – siblings are usually high up on that list. Despite being eager to celebrate, one woman was forced to leave her brother’s nuptials after her ‘lying’ husband created a completely made-up health ’emergency’ so she would come home, only for a raging argument to ensue between the couple.

Taking to Reddit to share her ordeal, the woman, who remains anonymous, explained that her husband had been experiencing health issues prior to the wedding, but the elaborative tale he told his wife while she was at her brother’s big day turned out to be far from true.

She said: “My husband has been sick for few days. He got sicm [sick] around the time of my brother’s wedding. I took care of him 24hrs for days. He’s on meds and can move and go to the bathroom and eat on his own.

“I told him I was going to my brother’s wedding and he threw a fit saying I couldn’t leave him alond [sic] while he’s sick. I told him he was not that sick, it’s just some stomache [sic] that he’s getting treatment for and suggested he call his sister to come stay with him.

“He said no and told me to miss it. I got upset and bluntly said no and that he could survive for few hours while I attend the wedding. He sulked and as I was leaving, he said he hoped I won’t ever come back. It hurt my feelings but I know he was just mad and didn’t mean it”.

Despite tensions being high between the couple before the woman left for her brother’s wedding, she could not have been prepared for her husband’s actions later that day, as not only did her partner try and force her not to go to the event, he came up with a callous plan to force her to return home by lying about his health.

“At the wedding, I got a text from him saying he lost balance and fell off the stairs and hurt his back. He said he was in a lot of pain he threw up and couldn’t move, and insisted I get home asap,” she continued.

“I freaked out and started calling his phone but he didn’t answer. I thought ‘he must’ve passed out’ and I freaked out even more. I got in my car and drove back to our house immediately.

“When I got home, I rushed towards the stairs while calling out his name but he wasn’t there. I started to really freak out. I rushed into the bedroom and found him in bed drinking juice and soon as he saw me he put the phone down.

“I instantly knew he lied so I lost it on him and started yelling saying he freaked me out and caused me to miss my brother’s wedding for nothing…absolutely nothing.

Instead of owning up to his actions, the husband blamed his devastated wife for the ordeal: “He said that he already told me I couldn’t leave him alone in the house and that this ‘very scenario’ could’ve happened if I stayed there any longer”.

“He started crying and throwing his juice all over the place. I had to step out and call his sister thinking she’d come help but she came and started cussing me out saying I had a lot of nerve expecting her to back me up after I so carelessly left her brother alone af [sic] the house in that state just to attend a party. We got into an argument and I went to stag with my family”.

The woman explained that she hadn’t seen her husband since the fight, but was left hurt by his actions which caused her to miss out on her brother’s big day.

Hundreds of people flocked to the comments section on the Reddit post to share their disgust at the husband’s betrayal, and insisted that the woman had done nothing wrong.

One said: “So many red flags! I can’t get over that his response was to throw a temper tantrum and throw juice all over their bedroom. He’s probably going to expect her to clean that up too”.

Another wrote: “He may have been sick, but he was well enough to come up with a lie, get his own juice, and throw a temper tantrum when you got home… he and his sister are jerks.

“I’m so sorry you missed your brother’s wedding because your husband is so manipulative. If I were you, I’d call an attorney.”
