Queen’s florist shares how to make Christmas wreath in 2021

A woman has been left outraged after a callous thief stole her handmade Christmas wreath from her front door. She explained how she spent two hours making her wreath at a workshop in the run up to the big day – and proudly displayed it on her front door once it was complete.

In an attempt to get it back, she typed up a note and stuck it to her door in the place of her missing wreath. It reads: “Wreath thief. If you’re reading this I want you to know I have not forgotten, nor am I willing to let this go. I hope the guilt weighs heavy on your shoulders and it’s the last thing you think about at night.

“I’d like you to return my wreath to its hook on my front door by midnight on Christmas Eve, and if it’s not I will find you. The choice is yours.”

Signed by house number 26, the woman, from Bath, says she was devastated to see it had been stolen after spending hours on it.

She told The Mirror: “I’m really gutted because I went to a workshop to make it and put so much effort in.”

The woman shared a picture of her message on Reddit – and racked in more than 1,800 upvotes and about 160 comments.

One user joked: “If they just looked around, they’d see that number 28 has a spanking new wreath.”

Another user added: “Have they acquired a special set of skills that enables them to track down wreath thieves?”

Fiona bought her festive baubles from Home Bargains

A third user said: “This will almost certainly encourage the wreath thief to continue with petty stuff like stealing gnomes or the door bell.”

One more user joked: “I require an update on Xmas day. This action thriller needs a conclusion.”

It comes after a crafter showed how she was able to make a candy cane wreath decoration by festooning a simple hula hoop with decorations.

Sharing her creation on the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, she says the wreath set her back around £11 but looks like something you’d pay much more for.

Facebook user Fiona bought the hula hoop for just 30p from Wilko, and was able to purchase the remainder of her materials from Home Bargains, spending around £1.99 for four when buying her decorative candy canes.

She fastened the evergreen fir tinsel to her hula hoop frame using a glue gun, transforming the ordinary children’s toy into a decoration anybody would be proud to hang in their homes.

She then added her baubles and a string of twinkling fairy lights.

Fiona’s masterpiece went down a treat with other festive-minded members of the group, many of whom shared photos of their own marvellous handmade creations.

One person applauded: “Amazing! You could make these and sell them. I for one would love one.”

Another approved: “That looks fab. You’ve inspired me! I’m going to give it a go.”

A third commented: “Omg would you make me one? I’d I gave you money. It’s absolutely amazing, lush!”
