Even the most dedicated dog parents don’t expect people to hand over their hard-earned cash for the sake of their pet’s birthday’s. But apparently, that’s not the case for this dog mom.
A woman was slammed after sending her friend’s and family a long birthday list, with acceptable and unacceptable gifts listed, ahead of her dog’s day.
“Just so everyone knows, Leaf’s birthday is on Saturday and he is accepting gifts.”
“No treats, no rope toys, no plastic toys. You can buy him stuffed animals though, preferably not the ones with plastic eyes or just send him money and I’ll buy toys for him.”
Some people thought she was acting ‘so entitled,’ while others questioned whether she would actually spend the money on her dog or simply spend it on herself. “Damn, I have two dogs. I have never thought of doing this. I have really let some potential cash slip through the cracks over the years!”
“She made such an extreme list so people will give her cash to make it easy which she will then spend on herself.”
A third user said: “I can see where she’s coming from. Dogs love to rip apart toys and eat pieces which can get stuck in their digestive system and then they need surgery to get it out.”
“But who expects someone else to buy their dog a gift for their birthday?”
If you thought that was a lot, this story only came after another woman ordered strangers to send her 200 euros to cover the cost of her dog’s birthday party.
She said she wanted to throw her dog a party to remember, the woman logged on to a ‘generous group’ and explained that finances have been tight since the pandemic hit.
She wanted the members of the group to chip in so she could spend 200 euros on a lavish birthday party- for her dog. Things backfired almost immediately when she came to thank them for their generosity.
She said: “Damn I really wish I got more. I’m super grateful for what I got 100 per cent but I only got £55 out of what I needed”. She added a sad face and broken heart emoji as well, as if the guilt bomb wasn’t bad enough.
