Naming your baby can be really difficult – there may be some names which you deem pretty, but to others they have a hidden or darker meaning, so you’ll probably avoid them in order to prevent your child from being picked on at school.
One woman took to TikTok to admit that there were some names she’d love to call her little ones if it wasn’t for their actual meaning. @gailolee began her video by saying: “Baby names that would slap if they didn’t have their original meaning.” She also captioned the video: “Can’t tell me these wouldn’t be cute.”
The video began with her saying: “Chlamydia. You can’t tell me that isn’t a pretty name if it didn’t mean STD.”
She then explained that she thought the name ‘Analysis’ was pretty for a girl.
‘Omlette’ was her next name of choice, joking that it sounded like an ‘egg-cellent’ name, as she giggled at her pun.
‘Dyslexia’ was another one of her favoured names, as she explained it could be shortened to ‘Lexi’.
Next, she described the name ‘Duvet’ as ‘fun, fresh and fancy’, whilst saying ‘Sanity’ would make a ‘brilliant name’.
Finally, she said that the bacteria-inspired name Salmonella was ‘cute’ because it could be shortened to ‘Ella’, asking ‘what’s not to love?’
One wrote: “Omg I love it, especially analysis.”
Another said: “This is my fave thing ever. You scream good vibes and I’m here for it!”
Others shared their bizarre baby name preferences, with someone commenting: “I really like the name ankle or enamel”, followed by crying with laughter faces.
Another admitted that ‘paella’ was one of their guilty pleasure names.
The suggestions got more unusual in the comments.
“Celery”, someone else wrote
“Corriander”, one TikToker gushed.
“Vaseline”, another opted for, whilst someone else said “Corona” was their name of choice.
