When you’re on the hunt for your perfect lipstick shade and are really struggling, you may have spent more money than you’d care to admit. Is it a nude? A berry? A red shade? You’ve probably looked at tester upon tester, wondering whether it’ll suit your skin tone. Well, wonder no more, because one TikToker thinks she has the solution to your cosmetic woes – and it won’t cost you anything (other than however much your perfect shade of lipstick costs).
Emmarie Lane, aka @emmarie_lane has said the secret to finding your perfect lipstick shade is to simply pinch the top of your finger until it changes shade. Whatever shade the top of your finger goes is apparently the shade that will suit you the most, she said in a TikTok video.

Emmarie explained that she had enough lipstick at home to be able to find her perfect colour, so she pinched the top of her finger and she said it went a ‘berry shade’.
She then began to swatch the shades of lipstick she thought would work best based on the finger test, and she explained she’d ‘rub them in’ to see how well it went with the natural shade of her pinched finger.
After the first colour she said: “Oh! That’s pretty close! Did I get it on the first try?!”
The next shade she decided was a little too mauve for her liking as she said “er, no”. Then one after was too neutral and she decided was too strong to be the same as her finger.
The next shade was also too dark, meaning that bizarrely, she got the shade right the first time.
When she put it on, the shade was the perfect pinky-nude to suit her skin tone.
She asked TikTokers: “What do you think?”
People said that the shade suited her, writing: “Yes, that colour suits you!”
“Awwwww!! It makes your eyes look amazing!”, another added.
People were asking about blush shades too, and another makeup artist commented: “As a makeup artist I keep hot pink and red blushes! They mimic natural blood flow tones under the skin!”
