Plane seats are notoriously uncomfortable and their stark upright position makes it very difficult to get a good kip in the air. Luckily, there are some products on the market that can help you get a better night’s sleep. While many people may be familiar with neck pillows, one woman has shared her essential long-haul flight item that’s much less known.
TikToker Jake Miller went viral online after videoing his partner on a flight to Thailand using a “boujee” product. He said: “My fiancée brought a foot hammock for this 14-hour flight to Thailand.” In the footage, the woman can be seen placing her feet onto a little hammock that hangs underneath the tray table.

The TikTok has been viewed more than 5.5 million times and racked up over 180,000 likes with users impressed by the genius idea.
“Dude foot hammock is a MUST. Game changer,” one person said, while another agreed: “I’m 4’11 and will never fly without it again! Thank you foot hammock inventor!”
Many people agreed the product was essential for an international flight, with someone writing: “I won’t travel without it!”
“I got one of these for my flight from London to Orlando. Best eight quid I’ve ever spent!” a TikToker said.
Though others admitted they usually stick their feet in the back pocket of the seat in front instead.
“So I sat on an eight-hour flight with my feet in the pocket when these things exist?” a user commented.
Some regular fliers shared their essential packing items in the comments section.
One person recommended a blow-up pillow, while another said: “Bought an inflatable foot stool from Amazon for my 13-hour flight. GAME CHANGER!”
Foot hammocks can be purchased on Amazon for as little as £8.99 and can be folded up for ease of travel.
The item is described to help “relieve the stress on your back, knees and improve body circulation”.
One reviewer wrote: “Took this away on a long-haul flight, as I suffer from restless legs. Really easy to assemble in a small area. Gave extra support during travel in getting comfortable on a 12-hour flight.”
