Many people spend years agonising over which tattoo design to get as it’s a decision that will stay with you forever. However, one tattoo artist named Shae was left in a tricky situation after she inked herself by mistake.
The social media star – who boasts more than 56,000 followers on TikTok account @shae_tatts – has been been praised for her ‘genius’ idea after she turned the accidental tattoo into something ‘useful’. Taking to the popular video-streaming service, Shae shared how she transformed her ink into something ‘so helpful’.
Since sharing, the tattoo artist’s viral clip has surpassed a whopping 7.3 million views.
Captioning post, she wrote: “Accidental tattoo turned into something useful!!”
Shae documented that while completing a large tattoo on her thigh, she accidentally caught her finger, which left her with ink of a small dot.
Thankfully, Shae had a brilliant plan to add further dots alongside to make a useful tool for everyday life.
She explained: “I’m gonna put two more dots and then I’ll have inches on my finger.
“It’s just gonna be dots – it’s gonna be kind of cute.

“My finger is going to become a mini ruler,” she added.
“Why am I nervous?” She joked. “I’m going to use this so much!
“It feels wrong! It feels like I’m doing it wrong.”
Unable to contain her laughter, she asked: “What did I just do?”
Putting it to good use, she said: “My nose is like an inch and a half long.”
Flocking to the comment section, users were keen to praise the ‘helpful’ idea – with some people keen to receive the new ink themselves.
One person exclaimed: “Love it!”
“I actually really love that idea,” another agreed.
A third wrote: “Okay but I’m a hairstylist and this is f*ing [sic] GENIUS and I think I want this now.”
A fourth said: “Ahhh so freaking helpful!!! I want to do this now. I’m always trying to have a reference for size for my tattoos with clients!”
A fifth penned: “Wait… hold up, I want one.”
