In a bid to opt for a more natural look, beauty buffs are undoing previous cosmetic treatments like lip and cheek fillers as social media trends change to favour a simpler aesthetic.
To reverse existing work – especially filler – customers are returning to beauty rooms to use a dissolvent, which breaks down existing cosmetics.
Despite the common assumption that filler removal poses less risk than getting the filler done the first time round, one woman has warned against the removal procedure as a terrible allergic reaction left her horrified.
Despite patch test results coming back as normal ahead of her appointment, Karli Gardner was hospitalised as her lips ballooned in size.

Sharing her experience on popular video-sharing app TikTok, Karli’s video has already surpassed 87,000 views to date.
Explaining that she chose to go ahead with the procedure as she wasn’t happy with the way her lips looked after filler, she captioned the post: “Baiting my self out here, I did have a patch test and was fine, but I was still allergic.”
Ahead of showing photos of the skin reaction, the clip revealed Karli laying down on a hospital bed as she was strapped up to monitors for testing.

Whilst some viewers were confused as to why Karli would get filler to just have it dissolved, she made sure to clear up the situation with viewers.
“I didn’t plan on getting them dissolved [but I] didn’t like the shape,” she said.
In the meantime, other viewers were more sympathetic as the process appeared to be incredibly painful.
Sharing their thoughts to the comment section of the TikTok post, other people shared their shock at the ordeal.
One user wrote: “NAHHHHH I’ll keep my bodged lips [rather] than go through that! It looks so painful.”
“Oh my god! I hope you’re okay now, the swelling must have been so so painful,” a second agreed.
A third penned: “New fear unlocked.”
While a fourth added: “Scared me half to death!!!”
“Nope this is a sign to not get lip filler, hope you’re okay though,” a fifth commenter said.
