When you’re naming your baby, you probably have an idea of how you’re going to spell their name and have discussed it with your partner, or thought about it long enough to have made an executive decision. Surprisingly though, some parents aren’t on the same page when it comes to spelling and things get miscommunicated, so names get spelt wrong.
This happened to TikToker @cholebhole when her dad misspelt her name on her birth certificate, meaning that she has been referred to not as Chloe, for her whole life, but as C-hole. Surprisingly, in the comments, many other women related as their dads had done the same thing.

In the video, she replied to a comment which questions whether she’s actually called Chole, rather than Chloe, or Cloe.
She said: “Yes way, my name is Chole.”
Chole then went on to explain that it’s ‘actually the second most common misspelling at the hospital’.
She said her dad spelt it wrong on the birth certificate and ‘it never got updated’.
In the comments, people were shocked that Chole was her real name, but many others related as something similar had happened to them.
One wrote: “Omg girl my dad misspelled Chloe as Chole on my birth certificate too”, followed by multiple crying with laughter faces.
“I read it as coal it’s cute”, another complimented.
Someone else said: “HAHA GIRL! I named my first daughter Chloë, my dad sweetly had it tattooed on his arm ‘Chole’.”
Another said the spelling was the bane of her life, commenting: “The bane of my life is people spelling my name as Chole.”
“It’s my pet hate when people spell my name like that omg”, another agreed.
“I will NEVER understand how people misspell Chloe when you clearly pronounce the l before the o, drove me mad all my life”, one fumed.
