X, the most widely used social media platform, is preparing to launch Starterpacks, a new feature that allows users to simultaneously follow prominent accounts in prominent areas such as Bitcoin (BTC) and the cryptocurrency world.
X product manager Nikita Bier announced the launch of “Starterpacks,” a feature designed to help new users quickly discover and follow groups of accounts aligned with their specific interests, such as cryptocurrency, technology, business, politics, and culture.
The feature is expected to be activated within the next few weeks.
According to Bier, Starterpacks currently contain over 1,000 pre-built categories covering key topics such as cryptocurrency, news, politics, fashion, technology, business, and finance.
Additionally, within the cryptocurrency category, account packages will be offered for specific areas of interest such as Bitcoin and memecoin trading, developers, and on-chain analysis.
“Over the past few months, we’ve selected accounts that are influential across various fields worldwide and compiled them into a new tool called Starterpacks. The aim is to help new users easily discover not only large accounts but also accounts that are truly active in every field.”
The starter pack concept isn’t new. In fact, other social media platforms besides X have already introduced a similar feature.
At this point, Bluesky, a US-based decentralized microblogging social platform, had launched “Starter Packages” in June 2024, allowing users to create account categories aligned with their interests.
