The tightest divisional series of the postseason will conclude Monday night as the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Guardians return to New York tied 2-2 in the ALDS, fighting for the right to play the Astros for the pennant.
It’s been a hotly contested series to this point, with both teams taking one at the opponent’s stadium.
Gerrit Cole just pitched a Game 4 gem for the Yankees to force a decisive Game 5, which will have Jameson Taillon on the mound in what will likely be a bullpen game for New York. For the Guardians, Aaron Civale will be the opener.
The Guardians have fully embraced a plucky underdog role in this series, something that has been reinforced by their aggression on the basepaths and their heroics from unlikely places. The Yankees, meanwhile, have been trying to weather a slump from presumed MVP Aaron Judge, who has struggled outside of a Game 3 home run.
It’s sure to be a tense one in the Bronx Monday, and both bullpens will be tested. Both teams have fought hard, but only one can come out on top.

Hearing MLB is about to meet with the clubs to discuss forecast. Generally speaking, once the tarp is removed, add another 30 minutes to prepare the field.

8:45 p.m. — Looking like another half hour to hour of rain, but it looks like we’re nearly coming out of it. If nothing else, there’s light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.
Probably in for another 30-60ish mins of rain in the Bronx, but you can see the back edge (and end) of the rain finally approaching from the west. ⛈🤞🏼#RepBX #Postseason #yankees
