6 Most Bizarre-Looking Aliens People Claim to Have Encountered

  • Frogs and blocks and handsome Swedes, oh my!

What would extraterrestrial life look like? Not like your or me, if the people who claim to have met aliens are to be believed.

In a way, it makes sense. There’s little reason why creatures born on a completely different would look like humans with a weird forehead — no matter what Star Trek tries to tell us.

Then again, if the stories are true, it seems Earth is teeming with alien creatures, each stranger than the last. Here are six of the most bizarre-looking aliens that people supposedly have met.

1) The Giant Molester Frogs of Chicago

Harrison Bailey’s job was already weird enough — he rolled a huge green tire with ad space on it around Chicago. But his decidedly unusual workday took an even stranger turn on September 24, 1951.

As he was rolling his tire through a wooded area near Orland park, Bailey came across a large frog sitting on a log. And then the frog got up on two legs and started walking toward Bailey.

He quickly realized there were more bipedal frogs and they had surrounded him. The creatures started jumping up against him and touching his shoulders, back, and legs — producing an unpleasant sensation.

Bailey Ran from the frogs, only to encounter more aliens. These looked more like you’d expect, though — they were human-like with space helmets obscuring their faces.

According to Bailey, the aliens told him to let the world know of their existence. That’s all well and good, but did they ever explain what the deal was with the frogs?

2) Brazil’s Hairy Gingers

Jose Antonio Da Silva of Bebedouro, Brazil, was on his way to do some fishing when he encountered a group of 4-foot-tall humanoids clad in strange suits. The creatures paralyzed his legs and dragged him to their strange spacecraft.

On the ship, they sat Da Silva down on a chair and removed their helmets. We can only imagine he screamed in horror when he saw their hideous appearance.

The creatures were ginger.

No, seriously. Da Silva claimed the aliens looked more or less human, but with waist-length red hair, beards, and bushy ginger eyebrows.

Their mouths weren’t human-like, though. Da Silva described them as toothless and like “fish mouths.”

The aliens asked Da Silva to gather information about Earth for them. When he refused, they shrugged and dropped him off pretty much where they’d found him — although four days had passed.

We’re taking from this that in Brazil, aliens are basically Irish dwarves looking for employees.

3) Mischievous Yodas

In 1955, a Kentucky family claimed to have seen a bunch of flickering lights in the sky. When they went to check out strange noises near their houses, they encountered a group of aliens.

The Sutton family described the beings as being about three feet tall. They had long arms, clawed fingers, short legs, and long pointy ears.

Basically, they looked like a thinner Yoda.

But instead of teaching the family the peaceful ways of the Force, these goblins were a mischievous bunch. The Suttons said they jumped on their roof, rattles their windows, scared their children, and were generally rude and unpleasant.

The family called the cops, but they never found any trace of the Hopkinsville Goblins, as the aliens became known. Once UFO nuts started flocking to their farm, the Sutton family promptly moved elsewhere.

4) The Beautiful ABBA Aliens

In 1952 (what is it about the 1950s and aliens?) George Adamski was out with his friends near Desert Center, California, when they saw an alien ship in the sky. Adamski had seen the cigar-shaped craft before and believed it was looking for him.

He left his friends and went out to see the craft. That’s when he met its pilot — an alien from Venus called Orthon.

Orthon was unusual because he looked like a human being. But not just any human — he was exceedingly handsome.

Adamski said Orthon was of medium height. He had long, flowing blonde locks and his skin was as tanned as Adonis himself.

He wore stylish reddish-brown shoes. But his pants were weird, as Adamski noted “his trousers were not like mine.”

Maybe it’s just us, but we’re picturing Orthon just looking like one of the Swedish heartthrobs from ABBA back in their heyday.

5) The Flatwoods Monster

The Flatwoods Monster is one of the more famous alien encounters. But although the creature’s not particularly obscure, it’s one of the stranger-looking aliens people have described.

In 1952 (of course) brothers Edward and Fred May and their friend Tommy Hyer saw a bright object land on a farm in Flatwoods, West Virginia. When they went to investigate, they saw a towering, sinister creature.

The 10-foot-tall being had a wide, “hood-like” head or hat, resembling the Ace of Spades. Its large eyes glowed greenish-orange and it had long thin arms with small, claw-like hands.

It wore something that resembles folded robes — or perhaps that’s just what its body looked like. The creature floated above the ground and emitted a nauseating “pungent mist.”

6) The Blocks

Many stories about aliens give them plenty of unusual features. But sometimes the scariest ones are those that have no features at all.

In 1977, 19-year-old Lee Parrish was supposedly abducted by aliens on his way home from his girlfriend’s house. On the alien ship, he encountered three creatures resembling stone blocks or tombstones.

One of them was white, and according to Parrish, it was the leader. It had the most complex shape — it was about six feet tall, had a curving frontal surface, and a distinct “head” block.

The other two blocks were simpler. The largest, a black tombstone-like being, was almost twice Parrish’s height, while the other was a simple red rectangular slab that was a bit shorter than him.

But these two had limbs. Each had a single appendage sticking out of their surface that they used to touch Parrish for a while, producing an icy burning sensation.

After touching him for a while, the blocks merged together and Parrish found himself back in his car. Reportedly, his bloodshot eyes hurt for days after the incident.
