Despite putting up explosive numbers, the Lions’ offense has struggled keeping all its weapons on the field at one time.
Those injury woes continued on Sunday, when talented pass-catcher Amon-Ra St. Brown was forced to leave Detroit’s Week 7 clash against Dallas after appearing to sustain a blow to the head.
St. Brown took the hit late in the first quarter after gaining a few yards on a screen play.
St. Brown was slow to get up, but jogged off the field on his own accord.

He was then taken to the medical tent, where he underwent further evaluation. Shortly thereafter, St. Brown left for the locker room without his helmet and was officially ruled out with a concussion minutes later.

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, Concussion, Out
— Detroit Lions PR (@LionsPR) October 23, 2022
St. Brown’s absence represents a major loss for Detroit’s aerial attack. The second-year wideout has been among Jared Goff’s favorite targets since arriving in Motor City. Despite missing a game with an ankle injury, St. Brown is second on the team in receiving yards (271) and tied for first in the team in receiving touchdowns (three). That should only increase Goff’s reliance on the likes of Josh Reynolds and TJ Hockenson, both of whom have only recently returned from injury.
Detroit is also without running back DeAndre Swift, who is dealing with both ankle and shoulder injuries.
Lions wide receiver depth chart
Without St. Brown, Detroit’s wide receiver room certainly loses a bit of luster. He offers a different threat to that of his contemporaries, like Reynolds and DJ Chark.

Josh Reynolds | 6 |
DJ Chark | 5 |
