Domino’s Pinpoint Pizza Deliveries Don’t Require an Address

Domino’s is making its pizza deliveries more convenient by no longer requiring a delivery address.

The address-free system is called Domino’s Pinpoint Delivery(Opens in a new window) and it relies on using the Domino’s app. Customers simply drop a pin on a map in the app and the order will be delivered to that location. Domino’s says it means you can “get pizza delivered virtually anywhere!”

“Domino’s is proud to be the first quick-service restaurant brand in the U.S. to deliver food to customers with the drop of a pin,” said Christopher Thomas-Moore, Domino’s senior vice president and chief digital officer.

Pinpoint Delivery works by using dynamically created hyper-local location spots(Opens in a new window), which replace the need for a specific address. Customers can continue to use the app after ordering to view the GPS location of the driver, track the progress of an order, and see an estimated time or arrival. There’s also a visual signal that can be activated so the Domino’s driver knows who to hand the pizza to when they arrive.

In order to use Pinpoint Delivery, customers must order online and pre-pay with a credit, debit, or Domino’s gift card. The final location for order delivery may also change slightly as the hyper-local spots are typically positioned by well-known landmarks such as parks or beaches, assuming there are any nearby.
