A man has left his mum fuming by getting a tattoo that he can point to every time she asks him a question – as she believes the ink is ‘childish’ and ’embarrassing’

When it comes to getting a tattoo, some people opt for designs that hold personal meaning to them, while some other tattoos are more spontaneous. And while there’s no right or wrong tattoo design choice, one man’s latest inking has left his mother fuming – as he’s decided to tattoo a common answer he often gives to any question she asks him.
The man explained his mum has a habit of asking him bizarre questions he couldn’t possibly know the answers to, such as asking him how his sister fell pregnant while using birth control, and where his son’s friend’s parents went to school.
After getting fed up of telling his mum he has no idea, the 38-year-old man eventually decided to get the words ‘No se’ tattooed on his forearm, which is a Spanish phrase meaning ‘I don’t know’.

Now, the man just points to his forearm whenever his mum asks an impossible question, but the ink has left his mum absolutely furious – as she thinks it’s “childish” and “embarrassing”.
In a post on Reddit, the man said: “I have a lot of tattoos. It’s just something I like. My mum hates each and every one. My mum loves me and I love her. She does, however, have the most annoying hobby in the world. She loves asking me questions that I have no way of knowing the answer to.
“For example, this summer I came to my cousin’s wedding. I have not seen my cousin in 7 years. I live in a different state. But my mum asked me how my cousin met her fiance when I literally only knew about the wedding because she told me.
“I told my mum that my 12-year-old son is out at a friend’s house for the night, and she will ask me where my son’s friend’s parents went to school.
“Those aren’t even the most extreme examples. The worst was when she asked me how my sister got pregnant since she and her husband were using birth control. Like how the f**k would I know?
“So I told her if she kept asking me questions like that I was going to tattoo the words ‘No Se’ on my forearm. That is Spanish for ‘I don’t know’.
“Well, she asked about my brother-in-law’s shoe size a week ago.
“I saw her today and my arm had the Saniderm on it from a fresh tattoo. So she shuddered, crossed herself and asked what I defiled my body with now. So I showed her. She got upset and now she is mad at me for desecrating my body to make a childish point and embarrass her.
“I said that I told her hundreds of times to please stop asking me questions that I had no way of answering. She said that she was just making conversation. I think she finally gets the point but my dad called me and said I was an a**hole for permanently marking my body to make my mom think before asking me a question.”
Some commenters on the post praised the man’s commitment to the joke surrounding the tattoo, but others were quick to point out that he was wrong for getting a tattoo that he knew would upset his mum.
One person said: “This was a hard one. Your mum will be a long time forgiving you. But my mum is the exact same way.”
While another added: “Obviously, you can get any tattoo you like. But I also wouldn’t take your mum’s questions as something she can necessarily control. Some people truly do talk without thinking, and while certainly annoying, they’re not trying to be in most cases.”
And a third wrote: “Your body you’re right to do what you wish with it. It’s the purpose behind getting the tattoo that’s the issue. You knew it would upset your mother and get the reaction that she provided. You might have achieved your goal but only you can determine if it is worth the cost.”
