A woman was left fuming after her neighbour continues to block her car in on her own driveway – claiming that space is his after he came to an agreement with the previous owner

Neighbours can be one of the greatest banes of owning a home – from rows over loud noises to settlement agreements. A woman online has taken neighbours from hell to a new extreme after describing her “tiff” with the man next door.
The neighbour continues to park on her driveway after coming to an agreement with the previous owner that in exchange for cutting the grass, he was allowed to park on the driveway. In a plea, the woman is desperate to just have her front garden back – after the man has been claiming the spot as his own and even goes to an extent of blocking her in.

Describing the ordeal as a “neighbours tiff”, the woman detailed how the neighbour will even go to the extent of blocking her in on her own driveway.
She explained: “When I moved into my new house through a council exchange, the previous tenant told me she lets her neighbour park on the drive in exchange that he cuts the grass.
“He asked if he could continue parking there and I agreed (not wanting to cause any upset when I have only just moved to the area).”
Since moving, the new owner’s sister has been staying and has also been parking the car on the drive – but this hasn’t landed well with the neighbour.

She continued: “She’s been parking in front of my car (essentially blocked in by both vehicles) so whenever she wants to go out I have to move etc.
“Recently, my neighbour has asked twice for my sister to move her car, once because she parked in ‘his spot’ and second because we came home to find he had blocked us out so had no choice but to park across the drive.
“The last three nights his own parking spot has been vacant, I don’t want him parking on my drive anymore, especially now that winter is coming and I’m having to park on the grass.
“My sister will be gone soon – but he is being a bit cheeky with it now.
She added: “He hardly cuts the grass as agreed either. I kind of just want my front garden/parking space back.”
The ordeal didn’t land well with users on Mumsnet – who rushed to the comment section to encourage the woman to put a holt on original agreement before it’s too late.
One user wrote: “Go see him and tell him you have people staying regularly so it no longer works.
“Thank him for his grass cutting. Wish him a good day. Say goodbye. Walk back to your house.”
A second added: “Just tell him it’s no longer possible for him to use your drive.”
A third agreed: “Grow a spine and go and tell him it’s no longer allowed especially since he’s treating it as his space, it’s not his space, not even his land. His parking issues are not your concern.”
