You no longer have to buy an Apple Watch Nike edition to access Apple Watch Nike faces.
Starting this fall, the once-exclusive collection of branded digital displays will be free to all Apple Watch owners(Opens in a new window) running watchOS 9—even those without a Nike model. Choose from existing Analogue, Compact, Digital, and Hybrid styles, as well as “fresh colors” coming soon to the Bounce face, which reacts to touch and movement by “bouncing” around the screen.
The faces are available on Apple’s trio of new smartwatches, including Apple Watch SE ($249), Apple Watch Series 8 ($399), and Apple Watch Ultra ($799)—which are available to pre-order now ahead of their expected launch dates later this month.
Designed for rugged environments and extreme sports, the Ultra comes with a 49mm case, the brightest Apple Watch display (which can switch into night mode for better visibility), and a battery that lasts up to 36 hours on a single charge. A titanium case and sapphire crystal display ensure protection from scratches and dents.
The Apple Watch Series 8, which packs fewer bells and whistles, includes a new temperature sensor to help women track ovulation and an upgraded car-crash detection feature for contacting emergency services. Plus, the updated Apple Watch SE boasts more features and a lower price than previous models.

Watch faces aren’t all Nike has up its microfibre sleeve: Apple also tipped “vibrant” new Nike Sport Band colors and a fresh Sport Loop with the “Just Do It” logo woven in. Luxury goods company Hermès, meanwhile, introduced two new bands and a “whimsical” watch face featuring an animated horse that sleeps when the wrist is down and comes alive when it’s raised.
Apple’s watchOS 9 (and iOS 16) roll out on Sept. 12 for Apple Watch Series 4 and up.
