A pensioner’s obituary has left his family reminiscing about what an ‘annoying’ but ‘loveable’ character he was, after his unusual last wish has been revealed, and people find it hilarious. Stephen Morris, 75, made a very specific request before his funeral, and it was duly honoured by his family as the perfect way to remember him.
The ‘annoying’ father of six was referred to as the ‘life of the party’ in a message shared by Australia’s Courier Mail which would explain his quirky final wish. Stephen, who lived in Brisbane, was also described as a ‘bewildering yet loveable’ husband to three wives.

The notice read: “Trying, but loving son to Norm and Gwen.
“Annoying, yet protective big brother to Phillip and Helen.
“Bewildering, yet loveable husband to Valda, Joann, Rosemary.
“Questionable, but ever-entertaining parenting methods to Steve and Sherry, Jodie and Terri, Clare and Liam and seven grandkids.
“Storyteller, poet, larger than life, life of the party! Thanks for the memories you crazy b******. We love you and miss you.”
Then, at the end of the obit, came the unusual request. They noted that Stephen had requested a ‘p*** up’ instead of a funeral.
His relatives have stuck by his wish, asking everyone who knew him to come together in the pub, reported news.com.au.
The tribute, which came with a photo of Stephen drinking a beer, ended with the quote ‘I did it my way’.
Photos of the tribute gained traction on Reddit, with many saying that the man was a trailblazer and they wanted people to have a party in memory of them, rather than a traditional funeral.
One wrote: “I have already told my family I absolutely don’t want a funeral. I find them weird. I would allow a party but that’s it!”
“I reckon Stephen would approve of us all turning up!”, another joked.
