The spouse of Sonoma County Sheriff Eddie Engram was arrested Saturday for allegedly crashing her car into a Santa Rosa home while under the influence of alcohol, announced Engram on his Facebook page.

Natasha Whittinghill, 47, allegedly drove her Tesla into the front of a home in the 5200 block of Beaumont Way at 12:51 a.m., according to Santa Rosa police. Before crashing into the home, the gray Tesla also hit a fence and a tree.

A resident of the home, a woman in her 50s, suffered minor cuts from shards of glass from the crash, said police. She was later transported to a local hospital.

Officers conducted a DUI investigation on the scene and determined that Whittinghill was driving under the influence, said police. She was arrested on felony DUI charges and booked into the Sonoma County Jail.

Engram took to his Facebook page to announce that his wife was the suspect arrested in the crash. He said the crash will be investigated by the Santa Rosa Police Department.

“As a husband, I am greatly concerned about my wife’s well-being. As a citizen and Sheriff, I am also concerned about the well-being of the person inside the home who suffered injuries,” he wrote in the announcement.
