Walmart+ Members Get Free Access to Paramount+ Video Streaming

Walmart is sweetening the deal offered to Walmart+ subscribers by including free access to the Paramount+ video streaming service.

Walmart+ costs $98 per year or $12.95 per month in return for same-day delivery, free shipping easier returns, scan & go in-store shopping, cheaper fuel prices, and six months of free access to Spotify Premium music streaming worth $59. However, there’s now an additional benefit in the form of free access to Paramount+(Opens in a new window).

Walmart struck a deal to allow members to sign up for a Paramount+ Essential Plan for free. It usually costs $4.99 per month and includes access to over 30,000 on-demand movies and TV show episodes, original programming, and NFL on CBS and Champions League live. There are ads, but this is a free benefit for Walmart+ subscribers which should make them easier to stomach. Removing the ads requires upgrading to the Paramount+ Premium Plan for $9.99 per month.

By adding free video streaming, Walmart+ becomes a stronger competitor to Amazon Prime, which costs significantly more at $14.99 per month or $139 per year. It’s also significant that Walmart managed to add Paramount+ while keeping the cost of Walmart+ the same, where as earlier this year Amazon increased the price of Prime by $20 in the US and by up to 43% across Europe.
