Omar Figueroa Jr. may have a new opponent, but the mission is still the same. Inside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Figueroa faces Sergey Lipinets.
Lipinets recently replaced Adrien Broner, who backed out of the fight to take care of his mental health.
Figueroa, 32, made his pro debut in 2008. A former WBC lightweight champion, Figueroa is on a two-fight losing streak. He last fought in May 2021, losing to Abel Ramos.
A kickboxing champion, Lipinets made his pro boxing debut in 2014. He won the IBF light-welterweight title in 2017 but lost it the next year against Mikey Garcia. Lipinets is 1-1-1 in his last three fights, his last bout a knockout loss in April 2021 against Jaron Ennis.
