Woman claims sideways cutlery hack is key to loading the dishwasher faster and easier

Thankfully, one TikToker has shared how she’s been making her life easier with a simple method that not many people have tried – but some were sceptical about whether it’s actually faster.

The woman, who posts under the username @blondebutterfly2, shared the video explaining that the ‘usual’ vertical way to load the dishwasher can take a while, but she said if you turn it horizontally and open it up, you can load the dishwasher in that way instead.

In the comments, she said it’s a great way to get the kids involved and get them to load the dishwasher because it’s much simpler. She also said that it’s a good way to load the dishwasher if you don’t have lots to put into it.

The divisive hack received some mixed comments, with some hailing it as a great idea, and others saying they couldn’t mix different types of cutlery in the same way she did.

One joked: “I’d rather just stuff way too many in there and then wonder why they haven’t cleaned properly!”

Another said: “Okay, this is new to me! I never knew this!”

Someone admitted they didn’t even know that the cutlery holder had a purpose, commenting: “I have this in my dishwasher. Didn’t know what it was and it was annoying me. Took it out!”

Another said their wife didn’t believe in mixing cutlery in the dishwasher, writing: “My wife thinks a fork won’t get clean if I put it next to spoons”, followed by a crying with laughter emoji.
