Mastering the Martingale: Strategies for Playing Roulette

  • There’s more than one way to “skin a cat,” as they say…

Everyone wants to be successful when playing casino games like Roulette. Although, it’s important to remember that it is a chance-based game, so gaining prize rewards isn’t a certainty.

However, this doesn’t stop some players from using certain strategies to try and increase their chances of success.

Carry on reading to see how these strategies could be incorporated into the impressive range of online Roulette games that are available to you!

Martingale

This is the most popular and successful Roulette strategy – one reason is because it’s easy to apply. Roulette players found that the best bets to carry out this strategy is on outside bets, bets that have almost 50% chances of winning and no bets on zero. But, why?

The whole concept of this strategy is to increase your bets every time you’re unsuccessful, so when you do finally gain rewards, you will win back the funds that you initially wagered when you were unsuccessful. Then, you’ll start betting with the initial amount again.

Outside bets are a good one to choose, as they have an almost 50% chance of success, as well as the lowest payouts. So, you would gain the same prize amount that you bet on the spin.

The Martingale system isn’t difficult to incorporate, but there are risks on how much you’ll get back on a game, which is why many seasoned players are not a fan.

Fibonacci

This strategy was coined by Italian mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci. With this system, the set of numbers steadily increase, so each number is equal to the sum of the two before it. It starts from zero, then one, which would equal one, and so on as the numbers increase.

Relating this to a Roulette bet, each stake you place would be the sum of the two stakes before it. When you place an unsuccessful bet, you would progress to the next number in the sequence, and for every success you would go back two places, or begin from the start if you haven’t reached that far. The Roulette version doesn’t incorporate the zero, so it starts from one, then two, which would equal three.

If you were to use this strategy with outside bets it wouldn’t be effective. Wagers should be placed on an even bet that pays out what you wager, so a color bet, for example. This ensures an even chance of being both successful and unsuccessful.

The James Bond

This strategy was named after the famous 007, as he was a lover of casino games – matching his rich taste. It’s best played when you’re not planning on playing Roulette for a long time – like Bond who is always on the go!

In each round you would play using multiples of 200 – there are three bets to remember while playing. First, a bet would be placed for 140 on a number from 19-36. Then, place a bet for 50 on a number between 13 and 18. Finally, a bet of 10 on the single zero – altogether amounting to 200.

This strategy guarantees a higher chance of success, but if you are unsuccessful, you could exceed maximum table bets quickly. Is the 007 way of betting for you?

With a variety of strategies, will you adopt any, or just spin the wheel in this chance-based game to see what could happen?
